Ceramic Wear Liners
For over 25 years, TECERA has manufactured ceramic wear liners that protect steel equipment from abrasive wear. A steel chute lined with our ceramics lasts 5 to 10 times longer than unlined steel, meaning fewer shutdowns, less maintenance labor, and predictable operating costs. The product range covers 92% alumina, 95% alumina, ZTA (zirconia-toughened alumina), reaction-bonded silicon carbide (RBSiC), plus weldable tiles and rubber-backed panels for impact zones. For wholesale buyers, these liners create repeat orders and satisfied end users in mining, coal preparation, cement, steel, and power generation.
Technical Properties
Hardness defines wear resistance. TECERA's 92% and 95% alumina liners achieve Mohs 9; RBSiC reaches 9.5. Quartz (Mohs 7) cannot scratch alumina, whereas hardened steel (Mohs ~6) wears rapidly. Density and porosity are equally critical. Alumina liners show bulk density ≥3.60–3.65 g/cm³ and water absorption below 0.01%, preventing process-liquid penetration and freeze-thaw cracking. ZTA liners deliver density ≥4.00 g/cm³ and fracture toughness of 5.0–6.5 MPa·m¹/²-roughly 50% higher than 95% alumina. RBSiC provides Vickers hardness 2500–3500 HV and a maximum service temperature of 1380°C. Chemical inertness makes all grades suitable for acidic coal-prep water and alkaline environments.
Isostatic Pressing & Uniform Wear
Instead of dry pressing, which creates density gradients, TECERA uses cold isostatic pressing (CIP) for larger and critical shapes. CIP applies uniform pressure, producing a homogeneous structure. A dry-pressed tile is denser on the surface and softer inside; as it wears, the interior erodes faster, causing uneven surfaces and early failure. An isostatically pressed tile wears flat, delivering predictable replacement intervals. Combined with <0.01% water absorption, this eliminates internal weakening from moisture. ZTA's zirconia particles arrest crack propagation through phase transformation, making it ideal for crusher feed chutes that combine abrasion and impact. RBSiC liners in dense medium cyclones have lasted 4–5 years versus 8 months for standard alumina-a 5–10× life extension.
Installation & Shapes
Proper installation maximizes liner life. TECERA supplies tiles for epoxy bonding, stud welding, and mechanical fastening. Trapezoidal interlocking tiles (e.g., 150×50/45 mm) provide mechanical retention: even if adhesive ages, the dovetail shape locks tiles in place, reducing loose tiles that can damage downstream equipment. Rubber-backed composite panels absorb impact in high-energy zones. Standard shapes include rectangular tiles (150×50, 150×100, 100×100 mm), hexmats, mosaicmats, and cylinders. Thicknesses range from 6 mm to 25 mm; ball mill bricks are available up to 110 mm. This flexibility shortens installation time and minimizes warranty claims for wholesale buyers.
Proven Performanc
Verified across industries: a Chilean copper mine's crusher discharge chute ran 2+ years with TECERA ceramics, replacing 6-month steel. A West Virginia coal hopper lasted 4 years versus 14-month rubber. An Ohio fly-ash elbow exceeded 8 years, while bare steel elbows failed every 6–12 months. A Texas sand plant cut annual maintenance downtime from 12 days to 2 days. These outcomes mean predictable budgets and repeat business.
