Product Introduction

Alumina Ceramic Chute Panel is a formed alumina wear panel for chutes, transfer points, hoppers and discharge sections handling abrasive bulk materials. The ceramic layer provides a hard wear surface for areas exposed to continuous material flow and sliding contact. Panel grade, thickness, dimensions and geometry can be specified from equipment drawings, existing liners or measured installation areas.

Where It Is Used

Mining & Mineral Processing

Applied to ore chutes, transfer points, hoppers and discharge sections where mineral particles create continuous abrasive contact.

Coal Preparation

Used in coal handling chutes, hoppers and transfer areas exposed to coal, mineral fines and other bulk solids.

Cement & Aggregates

Suitable for material transfer and discharge areas handling limestone, clinker, aggregate and other abrasive solids.

Power & Bulk Handling

Used in coal, ash and other bulk-material conveying areas where chute surfaces are exposed to repeated material flow.

Panel Construction

Alumina Working Layer
The wear surface is produced from alumina ceramic grades containing 92% to 99% Al₂O₃. Grade selection is based on the required material properties and operating conditions.

Panel Geometry
Flat panels suit regular surfaces. Segmented or shaped sections can follow curved, tapered and irregular chute areas.

Fixing Configuration
Panel dimensions, edge details and mounting features can be specified according to the chute structure and selected installation method.

Alumina Grade Selection

TW92 / TW92S
TW92 contains a minimum of 92% Al₂O₃. TW92S uses the same alumina content with higher specified fracture toughness for areas subject to greater mechanical loading.

TW95 / TW95S
TW95 contains a minimum of 95% Al₂O₃. TW95S combines 95% minimum Al₂O₃ with increased specified fracture toughness.

TW97 / TW99
TW97 and TW99 provide higher alumina content and density for applications requiring these material specifications.

Size & Thickness

Panel Format
Common formats include 100 × 100 mm and 150 × 100 mm. Larger sections can be specified according to the chute layout and installation area.

Thickness Range
Thickness is selected according to wear exposure, material characteristics, impact conditions and available installation space.

Custom Dimensions
Length, width, thickness, holes, edge details and shaped sections can be produced from technical drawings or existing liner measurements.

How to Select the Panel

Sliding Wear
For material moving mainly along the lining surface, selection should consider particle hardness, material flow and the required wear allowance.

Impact Loading
For concentrated material impact, particle size, drop height and impact location should be considered together with ceramic grade and panel thickness.

Installation Geometry
Panel dimensions should follow the chute profile and maintain the required material passage. Smaller sections can be used around corners, transitions and irregular areas.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

Material Preparation

Alumina ceramic powder is prepared according to the selected grade and component requirements before forming.

Forming & Sintering

Panels are formed to the specified geometry and sintered to develop the required density and mechanical properties.

Inspection

Alumina content, density, hardness, strength, dimensions and visual condition are checked against the applicable product specification.

Installation Considerations

Surface Preparation: The mounting surface should be clean, stable and prepared for the selected fixing method before installation.

Joint Layout: Panel joints should follow the chute profile and material flow direction while allowing practical access for inspection and replacement.

Wear Zones: Different chute sections can use different panel specifications where wear intensity, impact conditions or geometry vary across the installation.

What to Confirm Before Ordering

Chute Information
Provide chute dimensions, lining area, material flow direction and available installation space.
Operating Conditions
Material type, particle size, throughput, drop height and operating temperature help define the ceramic grade and panel thickness.
Existing Liner
Existing panel dimensions, thickness, photographs and drawings can be used to establish a replacement specification.

Supply & Inspection Documents

Technical Confirmation
The confirmed specification can include ceramic grade, panel dimensions, thickness, tolerances and installation configuration.
Quality Documentation
Material and inspection records can be supplied according to the agreed product specification.
Packing Identification
Panels can be identified by specification or batch information to support receiving inspection and maintenance records.

Request a Chute Panel Specification

Provide the chute drawing, existing liner dimensions or required panel size together with the conveyed material and operating conditions. These details allow the ceramic grade, thickness, geometry and required quantity to be defined for quotation.

FAQ

Q: What alumina grade should be used for a chute panel?

A: TW92, TW95, TW97 and TW99 provide different alumina-content levels. TW92S and TW95S add higher specified fracture toughness for applications requiring greater mechanical resistance.

Q: Can the panel dimensions be customized?

A: Yes. Length, width, thickness, holes, edge details and shaped sections can be specified from drawings or measured dimensions.

Q: How is panel thickness selected?

A: Thickness is determined from the wear area, particle characteristics, material flow, impact conditions and available installation space.

Q: Can these panels be used on curved chute sections?

A: Yes. Segmented and shaped panels can be arranged to follow curved, tapered or irregular chute surfaces.

Q: What information is required for a quotation?

A: Panel dimensions, thickness, ceramic grade if known, quantity, chute drawings or existing liner details, conveyed material and operating conditions provide the main information needed for specification.
